7. Nike Kobe Mentality 2 ($100)

The Kobe Mentality 2 is a budget model by Nike that was designed for outdoor play. The traction pattern on the Kobe Mentality 2 is really aggressive and performs well. The full length drop in Lunarlon cushion is okay. The fit and lockdown are amazing. The Nike Kobe Mentality 2 is a good looking, minimal shoe and you cannot go wrong with it.

6. Adidas Light Em Up 2 ($80)

The Adidas Light Em Up 2 is an insanely cheap budget model that is a solid performer. The retail price of $80 is already super cheap, but you can get it on sale for $60-66 on either Amazon or Adidas’s website. The Bounce cushion is amazing, it gives you good impact protection, court feel, and bounciness. The traction on the Light Em Up 2 is really good, but the rubber is soft so it is not the most durable outsole around. The ankle protection is adequate, and the engineered mesh upper is not super soft like a jacquard, but it does break in and get softer. The Adidas Light Em Up 2 is an all around solid performer with an insanely low price point, you cannot go wrong with this shoe.

5. Under Armour  Curry 1 Low ($110 on sale)

The Under Armour Curry 1 Low is the low top version of Stephen Curry’s first signature shoe. The materials give you a lot of support while still feeling very soft. The cushion in the shoe is okay, it provides decent impact protection and good responsiveness. The Curry 1 Low does feature a very nice traction.

4. Nike Hyperlive ($100)

The Nike Hyperlive is one of Sammy’s favorite low top shoes. The traction is nice, it is not the best and it requires a significant amount of wiping. Once you do wipe though, it performs well. The injected Phylon midsole provides a nice cushion. The fit and materials were perfect for Sammy, and the shoe feels minimal. The Nike Hyperlive is a good shoe that looks good and is very affordable.

3. Nike Air Max Audacity ($110)

The Nike Air Max Audacity is basically the signature shoe of Anthony Davis without being a true signature. The Audacity retailed at $110, but you can catch it on sale for about $90. The Air Max Audacity is a shoe that turned out to be quite surprising. The shoe performs well outdoors, since the rubber on the outsole is very hard. The traction is very good both indoors and outdoors. The fit was nice and even though it looks bulky, the shoe felt light. The shoe is good all around, and the quality materials feel premium for the price.

2. Nike Kyrie 2 ($100 on sale)

The second signature shoe for Kyrie Irving by Nike is a really good shoe. The Kyrie 2 features one of the best tractions on the market. The Sole Brothers love pretty much everything about the Kyrie 2 other than the cushion. The cushion is super responsive and provides good court feel, but is very stiff and provides little impact protection. The upper is also pretty stiff, but it does eventually break in enough to feel nice. The shoe currently retails at $120, but select color ways are currently on sale for $100.

Anyone who follows us should have seen this coming. The Adidas D Lillard 2 is an awesome shoe that is stupid cheap considering how good it is. The Bounce cushion is amazing, providing a nice bounce and tons of impact protection. The traction on this shoe is really good, and the materials are very nice. The D Lillard 2 is a go to shoe for the Sole Brothers and is almost always in our rotation.
