Under Armour Rocket First Impressions!

The Under Armour Rocket is a budget model shoe that Sammy copped and has played in one time. Sammy gave us his first impressions on the shoe, which he got because he felt the need to test more Under Armour shoes and you guys frequently request that we test out budget models. Starting off as we always do with the traction, after one play through, Sammy reports that the traction is phenomenal. He even went so far as to say that it is one of the best tractions, on the same level as the Kobe Mentality 2, Kobe 9, or Kyrie 2. The outsole does attract dust, but not so much to where it is a problem. The midsole is full length Micro G (thank you Under Armour!) which looks thick, but Sammy said that your foot sits down lower than the top of the cushion (watch the video below and it will make more sense when you see it). The Rocket also features a Micro G sockliner which feels very plush. The Micro G feels responsive but not bouncy, but Sammy suspects that it will break in and provide some bounciness. The upper is made of a “lightweight leather” that Sammy says feels a bit like Clutchfit, the Rocket also has a mesh tongue and mesh part of the heel for breathability. There is a molded foam section on the ankle that Sammy thinks will be supportive. The Rocket does not seem to have a TPU heel counter, which is bothersome since that increases the likelihood of issues with heel lockdown. The Rocket fits a little longer and wider than a normal Under Armour shoe. Sammy’s first impression of the shoe is that overall it will be an okay shoe. The traction on the Under Armour Rocket is awesome, but since everything else seems to be decent, it gave Sammy the overall impression that the Rocket will be a decent shoe. Tell us what you think of the shoe and Sammy’s First Impression, and check out the images and the Sole Brothers’ First Impression video below.
