adidas Crazylight Boost 2016 Release Info, Colorways, and More!
The adidas Crazylight Boost 2016 is almost upon us! We now have some updated info about the release date and color ways. Sole Collector reported that adidas will release the shoe on July 2, with four color ways. The four color ways are to be promoted by James Harden and the collection will be dubbed the “Harden Activated” collection. There will be four color ways, white, red, grey, and black based pairs all with printed jacquard uppers, translucent elements, and full length sexy-time Boost!
Sports Illustrated also published an interesting article about the Crazylight Boost 2016 and James Harden that is well worth the quick read. In the article, they discuss how James Harden has been itching to play in the Crazylight Boost 2016 for a long time, “Designs like this and shoes built for my game are the reason why I came to Adidas basketball,” Harden says. “I’ve been waiting to wear these shoes since I tested the first prototype and I can’t wait to wear them on the court this summer.” Another interesting tidbit is that the entire goal for this year’s Crazylight Boost model was for it to have full length Boost, and in order to achieve this, adidas had to reengineer their entire approach to the shoe in order to accomplish the objective of full length Boost. The most interesting bit is a mistake in the article.
“As the Crazylight line continues to grow in popularity for Adidas, using Boost cushioning has given the low-top shoe a premium technology to hang its design on. Now the line will add to that with full-length Boost, something the company hasn’t yet done in a basketball sneaker.”
The issue is with that second sentence, if you know much about adidas’s basketball shoes, you’ll see the error immediately. The quotation contains the assertion that the Crazylight Boost 2016 will be the first basketball shoe that adidas has made with full length Boost, but that is incorrect. The first basketball shoe that utilized full length Boost is the D Rose 5.
James Harden is also quoted in the SI piece as saying about the Crazylight Boost 2016, “It’s really comfortable, performs well and has tremendous style,”. The SI article also states that the shoe will retail for $120 and will be promoted by James Harden, Kyle Lowry, and Jeremy Lin.
